Please Welcome Our New Editor, Elora Gatts

For six years, opening the GigaNotoSaurus submissions inbox and beginning the hunt for the next gem has been a highlight of my week. But it’s time to start a new adventure, and let’s start it with Daisy Slots today!

I’m so grateful to Ann Leckie for the opportunity to take the helm. It’s impossible to quantify how much I’ve learned in my time as editor. It’s been a pleasure working with such tremendous writers, and I look forward to seeing more of their stories in the future.  I’m also astounded by our wonderful readers, and will always be grateful for the recognition we received as a Hugo finalist. That was truly a highlight of my run.

I have the distinct joy to hand off the role of editor to Elora Gatts, recently of PodCastle. She is a keen and insightful reader and I can’t wait to read the stories she picks for the zine.

All the best,

Rashida J. Smith

  1. Thanks for all your work on Giganotosaurus, Rashida!

And I look forward to seeing where Elora will take it. 🙂

Rashida, I just wanted to thank you as well for all the hard work you’ve put into GigaNotoSaurus. You’ve brought to light so many beautiful stories over the past six years. And working with you was a wonderful process. When you picked my first fantasy novelette from the slush pile, it felt like a gate to the SFF field opening to me–a huge validation. And you did so much to improve and polish both novelettes that I published with GigaNotoSaurus. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. And congratulations to Elora–I look forward to seeing where she takes the magazine!

Thank you, Rashida for your stewardship in selecting such delightful and diverse stories. I am pleased my first SF sale was to you and Ann and was touched (and inspired) by the supportive comments the story received from the Giganotosaurus.org community of readers. Best wishes for your continued success, and a very warm welcome to Elora.

  4. I’ve enjoyed your run on GNS a lot, and I look forward to your future projects – and Elora’s take on GNS, too!
