2025 Award Eligibility Post
Last year was an unusual year for GigaNotoSaurus. As such, we have a fewer number of stories award-eligible for 2025. Here are the ones we did publish along with the categories they fall under. We are using the Nebula Award categorization rules: short stories are less than 7500 words. Novelettes are 7500 to 17500 words, and novels are 17500 to 40,000 words.
- Behind Glass by Christi Krug (short story)
- Fox and Troll Bake a Cake by Jeffery Reynolds (novelette)
- Something Rich & Strange by L.S. Johnson (novelette)
- Horror Vacui by A.V. Greene (novelette) (on Locus’s 2025 Recommended Reading List)
- Shadow Jack by C.L. Hellisen (novelette) (on Locus’s 2025 Recommended Reading List)
- The Starter Family by Sage Tyrtle (novelette)
- Water to a Goose by Sonia Focke (short story)
- A Good King by Sarah McGill (short story)
GigaNotoSaurus is also eligible for awards under the semipro-zine category, and yours truly is eligible under the short-form editor category.
I’m almost done reading the slush from last year, so look for an open submissions announcement either on our submissions page or on our Bluesky account sometime later this spring.
Thank you all for your support and well-wishes. May 2026 be kinder to you all.
